Transforming Pain into Purpose

Here’s my story..

Miranda W. Steib is a wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and a believer that it truly takes a village to raise a child. Growing up, Miranda’s close relationship with her grandmothers helped shape her core values. The passing of her mother and the birth of her first child highlighted the reality that she would not experience the generational relationship between a daughter, mother, and grandmother.

An advocate for turning pain into purpose, she was inspired to write her very first book, “Grandma’s Flower Garden,” to commemorate the beautiful life of her mother and grandmothers, while attempting to help readers ease the pain of loss by memorializing their loved ones.

Book Summary

  • After Morgan visits her best friend at her grandmother’s house, it brought forth the reality that she wouldn’t have the same relationship with her grandmother who had passed away. Her mother does a good job at explaining death in a manner that is easy for children to understand. As they take a trip down memory lane, Morgan is pleased to learn more about her grandmother.

While affirming the reality of their loss, her mother supports her with identifying how to make the best of unfortunate circumstances, allowing Morgan to discover a positive way to honor her grandmother, leading her to create a flower garden in memory of her. She also shares interactive questions to help children learn more about their grandparents, both living and deceased.

Reviews

  • Love, love, LOVE this book! I won’t say too much because I don’t want to give the story away, but 10 out of 10 - recommend. A phenomenal read for both young readers and adults alike.

  • This book allows you to re-create some of those beautiful memories. The family history that’s located in the back of the book is a great exercise to learn about your family history. Meaning this book can be passed down from generation to generation. It has great questions that are very interesting to know about your own family roots. I would recommend this book to any person who were raised by a phenomenal grandparent and they would like to share their precious moments with their child or any child who would benefit from the unconditional love and wisdom of a grandparent.

  • “Very good read!!! I enjoyed it and Milan (she’s 2) enjoyed the pics, lol….very understanding for a middle aged child that doesn’t quite understand death.“

  • “I love this book! Especially for the youth that doesn’t have an understanding of life’s cycle. This is a great way to expose, educate, and communicate with them about losing a love one. I hope to see many more books from the author, Miranda! Thank you for your work and sharing this with us.”

  • “I thought this book was so cute! It’s important to keep our loved ones memory alive. In this book, the author is keeping her mother’s memory alive by sharing things about her with her daughter. This is definitely a good read and the questions at the end of the book was a really great idea!”

  • “I loved this book!! The thought-provoking questions allowed me to reminisce about the time I spent with my grandmother during my childhood. I was able to answer the questions leaving valuable information about her with my children.”
